World Bureau of Metal Statistics World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS) latest report shows that the global aluminum market deficit in the first half of this year. According to the report, total market deficit of 380,000 tons, 716,000 tons of last year's deficit.
This year from January to June global production rose 16.8%, of which China's output of about 15,401 tons, accounting for about 55% of world production. EU production rose 0.6 percent, the North American Free Trade Area (NAFTA) production fell 3.1%. Only in June of primary aluminum production was 4,851.3 thousand tons, while the total consumption of 4,898.10 tons.
WBMS report also noted that global aluminum demand in the first half rose 16% to 28.74 million tons. Chinese apparent consumption compared to last year rose 34 percent. However, the EU 28 member states demand fell 100kt.
